1916 Old Town OTCA
This is a very special canoe. Made to the order of Percy Rockefeller (cousin of Nelson, Lawrence, et. al.) and delivered to his family camp on Upper Saranac Lake, NY (now The Point) in June of 1916, this was perhaps the highest quality canoe available in the US at that time. From the extra large ribs to the capped 20” mahogany decks that are nearly one inch thick, there was obviously no expense spared in its construction. The canoe was designed with true elegance in mind, and in keeping with Mr. Rockefeller’s original specifications, we have maintained his choice of a black hull accented by a 1/2” gold leaf stripe just below the gunwales.
